Was waiting for it.

All weather rules matey. Sorry I like to keep dry and warm.:001_tt2::lol::lol::lol:

Thanks for all the kind words guys. But I really don't see it as brave or anything of the sort. Just a job that when the item comes it needs doing. Guess I may feel a bit different after doing a few nasty jobs.

An the missis says that if the pager goes off Xmas day she is leaving me. Here's to hope.:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Been thinking about doing the same for a few months now. The arrival of the Tamar recently has made me even more keen

Sent from my Galaxy SII using Tapatalk

I would say to anyone to give it a go. After all you get a probation period to find out if a: you are able and or suited to do it and b: they can see you are going to fit in.

After all you don't know until you try. Check out there website The RNLI is the charity that saves lives at sea

And do the search for your nearest then contact them. I sent an email to my local and they invited me down on a training day, never looked back.

Been put in for my sea survival training at Poole just waiting for a date. Be some time in the early months next year. Around may time.

And have no fear over being seasick if anyone says they havnt been at some point on a lifeboat they are just plain lying.

I can honestly say I have never been seasick on any boat, or the lifeboat. (and I have been on Trents and Severns).

Maybe I have just been lucky.

I was waiting for you to say that.

Maybe you just had it easy and didn't go out in rough enough weather :001_tt2::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Completely agree with garden kit, what you may think only takes up a few hours here and there but it really doesn't, there's a considerable amount of training along with regular exercises, then depending on how busy your station is you've got 'shouts' to attend, where I was stationed we were one of the busiest in the uk, in the summer every weekend would be taken up towing some hoo rah Henry back because he's run out of fuel! I'm not trying to put you off but consider the commitment that will be expected of you, if you can give the time (no matter what time!) then go for it, great bunch of lads and lasses to work with and the boats are awesome! Good luck.
