Nah I'm happy with what I've got, anything bigger needed will be a move away from LR but until then it suits are needs just fine.

here is my idea of the perfect Death Valley & Baja vehicle. The roll cage is excessive in my opinion. It is a small percentage of folks who even come close to needing stuff like that.

 

Maybe, just maybe I could find one as a chassis only, no engine, no running gear, and be able to ship it over to the states as 'parts' and thus avoid alot of motor vehicle non sense....

 

Dont know how to do that. The steering on the 'wrong' side may cause me problems also with installing a different engine......

I really like the body type of the older defender 110.

 

It is very suited to what I do.

 

Problem is, they are not available in the states.

 

 

The jeep chassis I have is really not what I am looking for.

 

The f150 4x4 is actually junk IMO. AND the body style I am looking for is non-existent.

 

Here is another pic. of the 110. A true back country vehicle.

 

Do you have another suggestion ED? I am open to ideas...

I sure like the body type. Nothing like it here and very suited for extended back country.

 

Parts would be very over priced for me in the states. Also, if something should go wrong in some remote area, I would not be able to get parts.

This is why I am thinking of just getting the chassis, no motor, no running gear.

I can put my own engine, axles, electrical, etc.

Now that I have seen this chassis, I am getting more and more interested...

i looked into this though. has to be genuine agricultural or forestry use and aparently, arb work does not qualifty as forestry use not to mention commercial use mog drivers need hgv tickets now too!!

 

Jim, can you say where you heard this from? This seems to mean that a lot of people on here (eg Transit tipper towing anything) need a tacho regardless of how far they travel.

 

To save derailing this thread, perhaps you could add to this one
