For me I ascend up on either a base tied main line or secured at the tip, on a unicender, hand ascender tethered to the uni with elastic and a foot ascender I go straight up reset my TIP if need be, I use a modified petzl hand ascender with the safety latch removed for ease of opening the cam, I'm not to sure what you mean dicking around the uni stays right where it is all the time the hand ascender stays tethered and of course the foot ascender stays where it is. Thats what I was saying in my earlier post you just have to think more and plan your climb as well of climbing the tree more. You can use infinite redirects with no change in friction and if you smart about it once finished you can leave them all in place and just come down. Of course this is just what appeals to me about SRWP lol it nearly sounds like i have the big sales pitch going on as for a video, the climb every thing boys in unzed have a good one up some where at the minute

Eh... If they wouldvd allowed the wrench at the last internationals youd have been eaten your hat. There were a nice chunk of climbers there that can run any tree srt and make it look smooth as. I know im way smoother srt than ddrt and im not all that bad ddrt. I will give you that its not for every climber or every tree but oh the options.

I think Joe that the only reason that you are dickin around with your system is that your not used to it and your still figuring it out. At this point, I do not find myself worrying about anything but where I am going. Sorry about the derail, this is about the spiderjack which I have no experience with and so I should not even be in this thread.

Srwp is a usefull tool and like Ddrt has its advantages and disadvantages it's dependant on the situation which tool you use to complete the job efficiently and safely. I personally don't understand why people try and say "well you can't do this with Ddrt" while they wrap themselves around a stem ten times, or hand overhand Ddrt stating that it's easier Ddrt, when if you climbed Srt or Ddrt you would avoid all situations that do not play to the strengths of the system.

I think its just a real shame that Joe has never seen a smooth work climb SRWP. Please come to charlotte in april. There have been sone very smooth SRT work climbs for the last 4 years

There is a vid of Sam cooper at the charlotte comp this year it's not very clear though.

im a hardened spiderjack user of 4 years nearly, and i do love it, but im also very interested with srt, im just waiting for ART to make a single line self tending device, its going to happen im sure

have to say i agree with Joe on this one, and still waiting for a smooth and fast SRT climb. its not exactly hard to put up a good video now a days is it???

 

come on Bristow you been climbing SRT now for ages, shows us how smooth it can be. up and down limb walk etc etc. Be great to see one.
