NPTC's are assessments - an actual certification, Lantra awards are a bit different- they run alot of different training courses on all sorts like 4x4 driving, forklift trucks and agricultural stuff as well as chainsaw training. there are different levels of assessment as well.

Lantra will shortly be offering independent assessment equivalent to NPTC (City & Guilds )

and NPTC will shortly be offering training.

Certification from both organisations will have the same standing under NOS.

(National Occupational Standards )

Lantra are up and running as of last week with some of their units. ?nptc seem to be lagging a bit behind at present. I have to admit I find it a little confusing and as for work books and costs, I,m lost completely. I know what the outcome model is they are both aiming for, but am not sure how it will play out at this stage.
