And a ELH :001_smile:

YES! it was the purchase of the Easy-lift harness that got me back doing hedges but also using wheelie bins to ferry the waste back to the truck, lenghts of tarp to lay out under the hedge to catch clippings and ear muffs with a built in radio :thrasher:.

I recently shortened the shaft on the long reach hedge cutter to fine tune my approach and I recon im probably 50% more efficient.

My next purchase is going to be a raised platform or trestles and a younge man board, the only down side to all this is if im on day rate I have to stop for a few more tea breaks or I end up doing far to much :sneaky2:.

Really, some of the language here is appalling!

(if you read in between the lines...:001_tt2:)

Hedges I love doing them and would rarely turn one down.

I even use the tag line "Extreme Hedge Cutting" for the oversize windbreaks of Lawson and Laurel we often come across over here.

The French love a nicely squared off effect and seem obsessed by trimming lawsons until they go brown.

New bylaws for new builds now dictate no more lawsons!

Damn, there goes our bread and butter in 10years!

We bought a henchman to help with cutting, its an expensive piece of kit and not that well made for the price but VERY useful indeed.

Hedges, to be frank are too good an earner to pass on to any-one although we get hedges from others less well equipped.

Best of luck!

my answer to this is that I would not class sub-contracting jobs as my clients, any tree work I would be honest and pass on to origional contractor. :thumbup1:

I respect your honesty and hope it goes well for you . I for one don't really like hedge work . Trust is the key word here bear that in mind and you will do well

For those of you intersted, I would be willing to pass on my tree work (swapsies!). for one I feel I am passed my best for climbing, but also with having many hedge cutting contracts i really dont have the time!!
