we had a 12 inch tunisien pto chipper out this week.. i picked up a 12 log about 7 foot long and asked me colluge if it would go through. he said yes so i stuck it through. chipper ground to a halt, flywheel jammed and it bellowed out black smock so quicky shut the tracot of... turns out my colluge forgot to turn the sidelights on the tracor on so the anti stress didnt kick in...

Unless things have changed since I owned one, the bearing cannot be greased, which is there main downfall IMO.

 

I remember Quickchip a few years back they and sealed for life bearing which you couldnt grease, short life then!! stupid

What about feed roller sharpening?

Any need for this from time to time?

Our are already noticably less sharp after 25hrs and wondered how effective they would be after 250hrs...

Have a look at the new TS machine. 400mm wide infeed conveyor feeding through a 200mm x 140 mm opening to the rotor. Kubota and sub 750KG

@ WoodEd, I've worked for people where doing something like that would be the last day you worked there, and you'd get kicked up the backside from everyone else for messing up perfectly good kit. Not really a clever move, but does demonstrate how machines get abused by employees.
