We fracture reduced this limb back in '09

 

The last couple of shots from today show that it's flushed up nicely and the leaves it holds are darker green, denser & have remarkably long lamas growth as opposed to the rest of the untouched canopy which has a sparser leaf cover, lighter green leaves and almost no lamas growth.

 

The suprising thing here is that although the rest of the canopy has a small colinisation of mildew these (stripped bare) lamas & the primary growths on the lower branch are seemingly mildew free.

Haven't seen it myself yet, but I suspect the ring necked parakeets may be the culprits on the stripping.
