swimming is the best exercise i should think monkeyd. Less stress on the joints. If you do any stretching like yoga be gentle-most guys try too hard and end up hurting themselves. Good luck and take the time to do a new course maybe?

I did yoga for 8 years pretty serious about it too. If you breathe deeply and relax your body gives you space and 'finds' itself relaxing into elongation (if you know what i mean). Blokes being blokish tend to push their muscles to 'gain' a stretch (and thus congratulate themselves by being stretchier). If you touch your toes (standing forward bend) do it from fully bent leg to straight(ish) leg rather than standing up to touching toes.

The best yoga book without any hindu religion is 'The spirit and practice of moving into stillness' - by Erich Schiffman.

Or you could just swim!

Good luck, I hope all goes well mate. Just be sensible with yourself post op. It is common procedure to get you in, done and out again asap these days....
