You would be liable and they could sue you for all you have and more, thats why most of us have PLI.

You wouldn't be liable via your Employer's Liability, but if it was something the employee did wrong then, as Dave said, you would be liable under Public Liability insurance. While it's not a legal requirement to have PL insurance, it is a good idea to have it. :001_smile:

:confused1: Did I mention ELI???:confused1:

Some one claims against you or your company its down to you to have the relevant insurance to cover any claim, be that EL,PL,PI or motor insurance.

If you are a multimillionaire you require no insurance, as you are able to cover any claim personally.

Easy, tiger! :001_smile: The OP's question was referring to his liability under Employer's Liability and I was clarifying where his liability would lay. Employer's Liability insurance would be as much use as tits on a fish in the event of a customer making a claim. :001_smile:

By the way, even if you were a multimillionaire, you are still legally obliged as an employer to have Employer's Liability cover.

Quite right

And keep the details for 40 years so any claim relating to aged issues have a timeline.

BTW- the government don't have any insurance on vehicles etc I was once told- they become their own insurance company.
