The space shuttle is taking it,s final journey to its resting place in a museum near LA...slowed down from 14,000 miles an hour to 2mph through the streets, apparantley hundereds of trees were cut down to allow it to pass through:thumbdown:....1,000 are to be re-planted:thumbup1:

In a logical world they would of taken(cut) the wings off. Its not going to fly again is it, unless its a secret pentagon op. To have em in strategic places for a modified runway take off with a giant catapult.

David...Good Morning! you were missed. But you were there in Spirit:biggrin: Now that is a relevant comment considering the excitment it caused (especially from Hama). It was coming to the end of decent light and our 8 hour foray.. The lads were checking out something at the bottom of a tree when i saw this beautiful Bracket that was lit by the ever fading light..it was almost calling to me:001_rolleyes: "Tony" i shouted,"Fruiting body"...that was it...he was up the tree enthusing like i,d never heared him enthusing all day! he couldn,t stress enough the importance of this find...i couldn,t believe it...there were more pictures taken of this lonely specimin than anything else that day...i must admit that it got me hooked...and as you can see from the pictures it was a most wonderful find (And my first find!) so i hit Gold...David,even Tony was scratching his head as to it,s name...could you (In layman,s terms, elaborate on this fung please....Thanks.

Rob had a couple of great lenses and after he has processed his 2,500 shots from the day, i know he took quite a lot of the tree...i am hoping he will add to the thread. either way,it is a very ominous site...something large has torn out dammaging smaller stuff on the way down...it was a very sad day when the women lost her life...as we were discussing those of us in the tree world have such a heightened awareness of noises relating to failure etc..cracks,creaks.....
