Yesterday i had an in depth phone conversation with LANTRA..i'm a bit torn between the two (NPTC being the other).I am dead set on becoming an instructor/assesor in whatever capacity and last year the money i saved on going to the pub etc.. i put aside for any courses i may need to take so that is there as and when i need it.This is not going to be a quick process. However when i set my mind to do something, nothing stops me.Doing one then the other might be the way to go.Whatever i decide i need to gain a recognised teaching/training qualification so that will be step one.I've heard of Train the Trainer but if anyone can advise me of others that would be greatly appreciated....
A friend of mine at my last job asked me if i was interested in a jacket he had won at a comp. He had never worn it but he thought i would rather like it and i was after something i could call my "Training jacket". I liked that idea a lot.I saw it and knew it was perfect for my future dream.I gave him some money for it as he was really kind in offering it me.It fits like a glove and is really well designed.I wouldn't expect anything less from Pfanner.I even match the fox they sent me! 3cc93a6466b20acfefef07ebcf01da1a.jpg3aee94fdd80e4faae5dae35d40ed6be6.jpg74a769dadc864b80c10dd775303d68cd.jpg

I went down the lantra route and have never regreted it.

These days Lantra assessments carry identical weight as NPTC assessments.

Regardless of that, you are better off doing the training and letting someone else assess, as you can get more days work out of training, you get more opportunity to make a difference to the candidates, and it's stuff you can get your teeth into.

I have a friend just down the river from you, Paul, who works as a trainer (different industry but similar gear and mileage costs and client bases I reckon). I’d be happy to put you in touch with him if you’d like some advice on the business side of things. PM if interested.

Regarding train-the-trainer,  talk to lantra about doing an 'instructional techniques' with Vince Holley.  Incredible bloke, you will love him.

Once again Mr Bolt i thank you.

You are welcome.

If you do nothing else, do the course with Vince though.

He is the most 'positive' person I have ever met!

The power of a VI prophecy. A ditty from 3 years ago:

A Silky Future

There once was a chappy named Paul

Who set up his own climbing school

They flocked from afar

On foot and by car

To attend the best college of all.

Said Silky "Now you all watch me

This is how you dismantle a tree.

You cut, chop and lop

From bottom to top

And take all the logs home for free."

Paul saved up many a dime

By teaching these people to climb.

But the best thing of all

Is that our friend Paul

Became the happiest bloke of all time. :)

Don't hesitate to contact for professional tarot readings, crystal healing, homeopathic remedies, thai massage.

That made me smile through my gruelling leg workout [emoji23].....so much for rest day. At least the rest of me can relax. We can always count on You or Bolam to see the funny side of life....I will get where i aim to be.For me it's all about the climb and i am a bit obsessed with seeing it done safely. As i always say,"Good work position is everything!"
