Pine limb failure

So i had to attend this call out one evening last week. The limb is off these monster Pines dating back to a botanical record when it was a rectory in the 1800's!! The limb was about 50ft long and it looked like a lever arm failure rather than a wind load failure. SRT mad the job super quick and it was pretty much straight forward. Climb up, secure with rigging, climb down the limb, strip out, cut off, tidy up cut, and lay on the deck.

Hope you enjoy it

Nice job :thumbup1:

Did you lower the last section off of a limb or the small sling ?

It still makes me dizzy watching head cam vids :blushing:

Hi,

The last section was over a huge limb hence the jumpy friction from trying to lower the end section. The sling was attached for my work positioning as i climb SRT all the time now. Just makes life easier and i can make sure its kept clear of the rigging line when lowering. I used it originally in the earlier part to position just beyond the limb as it sat vertical so i could in comfort strip it out.

Hope that makes it understandable?

Ian
