now i know it is a softwood, but what are your oppinions on this.

i only ask as there appear to be quite a few of the larger firewood companies on the web selling it.

i had some this year and when i burnt it i found it gave off an increadible amount of heat and broke down into a really good charcoal ember.

i found it to be quite good for heat and burn time.

if hardwood is hard to get now then is this our next alternative?

biggest obsticle is educating the public though?

have burnt lots of cedar this year, once dried and split it is really good firewood imo. Lots of heat and big pile of it at the yard...:001_tongue:

we have a logburner btw, not open fire.

It,s a shame you cant plank it. Traditional boat builders pay alot for Larch.

dont know any boat builders, well did do some work for HMS Bark Endevour.

think i'll get more firewood

larch is pretty good firewood, burns hot, for a reasonable amount of time, and doesnt leave too much ash..

tends to spit quite a bit so not really suitable for open fires though...
