Right, here goes. This is an idea for the more erm competitive amongst us , sorry you lot.

1. Arbtalk Axethrowers Forum?

2. Arbtalk Axethrowers championship league, points accrued across next years shows for the title of Axethrowing Champion 2013 with some sort of token trophy, to run alongside the fundraiser for Childrens Trust, all proceeds to the Trust.

So, whos up for it? Do you think it will a) work and b) be fun?

i think one prime rule should be that you must own your own throwing axe that meets Gransfors competition regs, so either a Gransfors or an Oschenkopf.

Over to you guys, and Steve can we have a separate forum pleAse when you have time?

if it takes off the axe throwing sales will escalate so the suppliers should make a donation to the Trust as well imo :)

a) Probably not, but who cares?

b) Hell yes!

After my pathetic showing at Jonesies today I'm going for it now, I'll be buying 2 Gransfors in the autumn because I owe my little bro one for his 40th and it would be foolish not to buy one for myself.

Rich Rule only won our grudge match today because he takes a run up.

I have thought about that Rich. One idea is that if you only attended one show, you could amass say e.g. 56pts, this would go into the league table, anpther person may take all seasons shows to accrue same no of points. like i say this is could run alongside the normal comp, so you could still participate in the usual comps anyway instead. Just ideas atm.

That reads badly.

There is no Arbtalk axe throwing at the APF because someone else does it there.

I'd be happy to help sort out the Arbtalk comp/league stuff.

Sorted.

BTW Andy, that weight you lost - it's back!:001_tt2:

No Mark, I only won the battle of the North East because...

A - Teesside is better than Northumbria.

B - I was more hungover than you.

C - You deserved the humiliation as penance for spending your hard earned to get the train up North to See Bruce Springsteen at the Stadium of Sh...

I'd be up for it Andy.

Im really thinking about this right now, while its fresh and before I forget, but I think it will work. No Arbtalk Axeing at the APF this time, but i think it will give us time to sort out next year. If it works out it could be an annual event, which Id like to see now. Most important thing I think is I would like it to be a fun event as the rest of it is now, ok a little competitive but thats a given. Another idea I have is to encourage a team event maybe, companies competing as we had at the AA Show, great fun. But this is running before we're walking. Keep the ideas and thought rolling in
