mog won't stop!

My mog has never stopped on the key I have to push the exhaust brake and when that stopped working I had to pull the accelerator peddle back still it stopped.

 

Crikey, with been challenged in leg & arm length it maybe quicker letting mine run out of derv!!!

 

At the moment the odd time I've started it to shunt around yard I've stalled it in top.

 

Was working fine before it went for exhaust system, hoping they havn't welded with batts connected or something like and done-it-in.

Hi a few years ago my u1600 was the same would not turn off with the key. I could turn the key off all lights would go out but the engine would not shut down.

All it turned out to be was a fuse easy fix but took a few hours to work it out.

Can you remember if it was in the panels on & under dash or inline?

Did a quick check today on main panels hoping it would be a simple one...

Give it a couple of big revs and try turning it off, loose wire, fuse but most likely the turny off plunger thingy, I had to replace mine on the 2150

 

Alternator due back on early next week. After refitting I will try the technical "extra to the manual, but likely to work" techniques

Long shot but a few years ago we used to have to fit a diode on the alternator circuit of our gensets because when the control panel shut the power off to the shut down solinoid the alternator kept the voltage to it. Could be the diode has failed or been fitted the wrong way round ( assuming it even has one ) May give your sparks something to work on. If you get a new altnator and it charges ok but you cat switch the truck off try fitting a diode.

I'm hoping that fitting the new alternator does the trick... just arming myself with a little more knowledge if it doesn't.
