  1. Does anyone know of someone who can hire out a 8inch Or bigger tracked woodchipper. Job should take about a month maybe 3 weeks. Work site around Newton abbot Devon but can travel to pick up if needed. Start date is September 2nd.
  2. Hi HCR no application has been made as yet the owner called the tree officer thinking he would come out and take a look. but he was told you get a tree surgeon take a look and if they felt work needed doing. To write letter to the officer explaining what is wrong with tree and what work should be carried out.
  3. Hi all I got called out to look at this beech tree there is a tpo on it but the owner is very worried about the part on the left spliting off as there is a lot of dead wood. The big branch on the right goes up over above part of there house to which they let out as a holiday let. The tree officer needs a report or letter from a tree surgeon before he will come out and look at the tree. I am not too even up on Fungi so was hoping someone could help. To me the tree looks dangerous mainly due to the fact it would fall on the holiday let. The owner would like the tree down or at least remove some weight from the right side.
  4. Hi Mattplace tyre size is 245/75/R16
  5. Hi Mattplace tyre size is 245/75/R16

  7. Hi Mattplace Wheels are 7x16 tyres I think are 235 maybe 245 not sure without looking. I owned a 2009 L200 before and had bigger wheels and tyres but I was able to buy wheels arches. But as you say for some reason they do not make for the new model I only found this out after I got the new wheels. But I feel they are ok yes they stick out a little but for me I am not worried. I spoke to my Mit dealer and he said I could buy wheels arches for the 2009 model and cut a small part out to fit on my new L200. We may do this one day. The wrap came to £1100+vat not sure what a new paint job would cost but we are happy.
  8. Ah thx rovers90 for pointing that out changed it now
  9. After 4 days at the sign writters are L200 tipper body wrap is done. Picked it up today and everyone seems to be looking at it. We are very pleased with the design and the way it looks. From the proof we had in a email was hard to see how it would turn out. But we are very pleased the signing guys done a ace job.
  10. Hello, Just wanted to know if anyone out there knows of a good MEWP servicing and loler test firm around Devon. I have a 16m tracked access platform which needs a good service and at the end a new loler test.
  11. Hi a few years ago my u1600 was the same would not turn off with the key. I could turn the key off all lights would go out but the engine would not shut down. All it turned out to be was a fuse easy fix but took a few hours to work it out. Hope this helps.
  12. Hi I have been offered a job to thin about 12 acres of Norway spruce. The woodland has never been thinned before. The owner is not sure how old but I guess 25/30 year old there are some good size trees to which will make timber. But the owner wants to thin now and in 5 years clearfell. The trees are great tall and clean. He wants me to do the job for the timber, I am more use to hard wood and not sure on what the going rate is for softwood at roadside. The trees will make 8' gate posts 7' posts and 5'6 stakes. I will need to get a digger in to make the path wider, As it is now it is tight to get a quad down there. I know a guy with a 13 ton digger he is going to work out a price. All the trees will fell down to the new ride I will need to put in to gain access for are tractor. I just need a rough price for softwood at roadside to work out if this job is worth taking on or not.
  13. Hi I have 12000 Douglas trees to plant have not done planting for about 5 years, The rate then was £195 per 1000 trees. Any ideas as to what the rate is these days. The site is very steep and has not been cleared up well after the clear fell. But if I could get a rough idea of price per tree for a clean planting site.
  14. I bought a 560 2 weeks ago and wow what a saw I love it, It has been used hard and has powered though anything I put the saw in to. Before I runned the ms341 but now I have used this 560 I will not be going back and will be getting another one.
  15. I know someone who had a tractor done at AT Osborne and had bad dealings with them.
  16. true enough Peter I will be shopping around and hope to be at the southwest woodland show to take a look at other makes and dealers.
  17. I have been in Contact with Calidonian Forestery today and as much as I would like to put a Kesla on the price was way too high for me at 45k.
  18. Hi Bella the guy who I have in mind has done 2 tractors for the foresty commission so would all be ce marked.
  19. Thanks will keep trying to get hold of him.
  20. Thanks brushcutter I have a guy who can put the frame and guarding on so just want to find price on the 560 and see if it works out cheaper and as you said the 570 maybe a good idea when I am on. If is just a grand more maybe worth while as that extra 1m makes a big difference and for arb jobs would mean I could get over hedges and fences that I could not before.
  21. Last week I just picked up a Valtra N121 and now want to get a crane on. Jas P wilson wants 19k for the crane and full garding I am in the southwest and will be a good 2k to get the tractor to willson's so I have found a local guy that has done two tractors for the fc I know he does a good job and he is only 5mins away he wants me to get the crane and the rest he can sort out. I just need a price for the 560 crane. I have been trying to get in touch with Willson's for a few days now but no luck, When ever I call he is out or on phone and never phones back. Does anyone know what price the Botex 560 would be?
  22. Hi just wanted to know if anyone out there knows what the fastracs are like for use in tree surgery/forestry. I run a u1600 unimog for chipping and also run a valmet with crane for use in forestry. But we are only a 2 man team and there is always one sitting about. So I was thinking of selling the valmet and unimog and buy a jcb fastrac and have a crane fitted to it. in the hope to cover both jobs we do. 80% of are work is Forestry. Does any of you tree guys run a fastrac with crane?
  23. Just looking around for a new mower I only do about 3 days every 2 weeks so dont need a real pro mower. But the 22 inch cut sounds good on the John Deere JM36 as I do cut large areas but cant get a ride on on site. Would be great to hear if anyone has got one or knows what they are like? Many thx.
  24. The tree is about 60ft and at the base is around 3 to 4ft across. I quoted to dismantle the tree and leave the trunk for planking. He was going to get someone to do this and keep the planks but know of someone who has started up in milling so may give him a try.
