Ha ha - they're amazing buy 10!

Personally I find them excellent for longer bars and esp bars for milling as you can leave the saw in the Alaskan....

But some people don't like the fiddling - you have to get used to it but once you have you can slap it on, sharpen quickly and get back to work again.

If you're really undecided then I'll let you have one for a week and if you're unhappy with it you can return it.... so all you'll lose is the return postage... Just keep all the box it comes in and gubbins!

Can't say fairer than that!

Only thing I ask in return is that you have to update this thread with your comments on it and if possible some pics of using it.

Im looking into these now ive got my small mill,

Which ones best /easiest/quickes Rob?

the granberg 12volt

or

granberg 12 volt precision?

thanks mate, josh

The handheld 12 volt one is very fast but loses in accuracy... handy out working. Like everything you get better the more you use them. I don't mark the grinding stones up massively like other companies! :sneaky2:

Granberg led the way in guides for filing - their round file version oregon actually copied many years ago!

I think Matt is going ahead and getting one and typically that's the last one I have of the precision variety... I'll be getting more on my next order of course prob in around the 6th August.

The vids for them all are on here Chainsawbars - YouTube

I have had mine for a year now. I bought it to sharpen my milling chain, as you do not need to take it out of the mill to sharpen both sides.

I now use it for all my saws, because of the difference it makes. Before i bought it i was of the opinion that filling by hand produced the best edge. Now having tried two chains one filled by and an one by the grinder on the same saw, the difference is........ (i can not think of a suitable word for how different it is)

Vibration levels are noticably lower and the tooth holds it edge for longer as the grinding stone leaves a very smooth finnish to the tooth. In addition to this the teeth are always excatly the same lenght and the saw cuts much straighter.

It is the best £50 i have spent in a long while.

Sent from my Galaxy arse using tupping talk.
