wood chipper insurance

I currently have my chipper insured as a 'trailer' with NFU. They do know it's a chipper, but it's down on policy as a trailer. Now, my 'more than' home insurance covers the chipper when its at home in the garage (I've asked them) So I'm wondering about cancelling the NFU policy. But can you get cover whilst the chipper is on the road? would some commercial policy cover it as a trailer?

Yes I know timberwolf do chipper insurance, but the NFU version is a lot cheaper.

Just be careful with the chipper in the garage insurance.I was told my saws were covered whilst in the garage (up to £5K). We got cleaned out in June.Gues what, put in a claim for saws.Sorry they were bought for a business use and are therefore etc not covered on your house contents insurance.

Likewise with 'chipper insured as a trailer'. My mate had his chipper nicked, rolled half a mile up the road and dragged another couple of hundred yards. It was a Vermeer so easily repairable for a grand (!) but the insurers saw it as an uninsured chipper as opposed to a trailer which they would have covered.

Worth checking with NFU - and getting in writing if not already - if you don't change insurers.
