No problem loadwise bro, just tell me the advantage over a bowline? It's not retrievable?

 

I've had 5 Stellas in the pub and am on my 6th Carlsberg Export here after a doob, so it it is possible I may have missed something.

Its still retrievable just put what ever you want on the carabiner throwline, tail of your climb line any thing either before it goes up or when you make it to your TIP. I bought some 5mm cord especially for this, if you send it up with the cinch and you work the tree with redirects if you keep the smaller line parralell to your climb line through the redirects (as long as you aren't making them super tight) it'll pull straight out. Works well for me

Yeah i was going to be bro but realised ( just before buying the flights) that its the same weekend as the nz nationals that I'm climbing at... Lil bit gutted tbh, sounds like it'll be a blast.

Bowline on a bight with a steel (preferably just in case) or ali binner including pulldown for retrieval is perfect. Use that or Drews ring anchor with circus bowline instead of an alpine butterfly if I am using a cinch tie off. Nice work Sirnick

slight derail but, when your ascending SRT in work mode, you have to lift all your own weight/use pantin am i right? theres no way of gettin a mechanical advantage as say you would from using a ropeguide (other pully incorporated anchoring devices are available)? cheers

There's no mechanical advantage thats the point, it's 1-1 there are numerous ways to ascend. Ascenders or at least a pantin is essential. You can set up a Rads system which gives you Ma but it's slow.
