What's done this? Squirrel? Lion?

This looks like squirrel to me, 8 foot a bit high aswell unless you got some big reds, which may have done a bit more damage!! seems wrong time of year for deer in velvet. im seeing quite a bit of squirrel damage in the woods at the moment.:thumbdown:

 

solution= squirrel bashing day(+dreys!):thumbup1:

There are a few beeches (15-20"dbh) on one of my stalking permissons with the top 10 -12' of bark missing, and it ain't no deer going up there! Big fat squirrels watching from the trees are a give away for me. Sadly not the first or last time I've seen it:mad1:
