Hitch Climber krab positioning?

Im just starting to use the hitch climber with a Distel but the top krab catches on the hitch and it tends not to lift up and bite onto the line after pulling the slack through. Im using it with a krab on the top and bottom holes of the hitch climber. Im just asking whether it is acceptable to position the krabs in the bottom hole and the middle hole of the HC and leaving the top un touched? Or will it end up damaging the device. Cheers for the help appreciate it:biggrin:

Had this problem myself...Hitch climber pdf says that you should use the bottom for the friction hitch attachment and middle for the end of your climbing line so the krab's are offset... changed mine accordingly and all is now well, the top hole is for further attachments.. I'll try and find the link...

Cheres MWArb thanks for the advice this is what I thought of doing but I didnt know if it was okay.

Your hitch cord comes down to the lowest hole and your spliced eye to the middle hole.

The top is left blank, this way theres smoothness and no catching of anything.
