Anybody else been today?

I got there at 9 and left a 7 and had a fantastic day. Weather has been fantastic for the afternoon. I'll put some pics up in a bit when I've looked through my 3650 shots (yes you did read that right).

It's on again tomorrow if you fancy going. Nice to see some living history.

Great pics but, to be a pedant for just a second, the Thunderbolt was the P47. The P38 was the twin-boomed Lightning. :001_smile:

You are right the P47 is a Thunderbolt. Twas an tiredness induced oversight on my part.

They had a P38 as well hence the confusion.

David if you go to the IWM Duxford website you can get guided tours of the other bits of the airfield. Which are very interesting they use to have loads of planes under tarps over there. Fortunately they're now in the hangers.

It was heaving yesterday never seen so many people there. One of the reasons that put me off going for both days.

These were done with my Nikon D90 with a Nikkor 55-300 VR F5.6 lens on it for these shots. Shot on the largest JPG files on fine quality.

Not the best shots as the camera is a little tired now. Need a good service and clean. Just one more excuse to get a D7000
