Hi

 

We are looking to hire a young person on a 6 month contract.

 

The post is being funded as part of Jobs Growth Wales and only 16-24 year olds not currently in employment can apply.

 

No experience is necessary and the pay is age related minimum wage.

 

Job is based near Ruthin, Denbighshire.

 

Vacancy Description:

 

Charcoal Maker

 

Assisting in making charcoal using traditional techniques in a woodland setting.

Physical labour including moving and stacking timber by hand.

Using hand tools: bow saw, splitting axe.

Job will be outdoors in all weather and will involve irregular hours (early mornings / evenings and weekends)

 

Desirable Personal Qualities:

 

Tough and self reliant individual.

Enjoys working outside in all weather.

Passionate about conservation / arboriculture / forestry / countryside management.

Desire to train for chainsaw / tractor tickets.
