WAKE UP

This whole bill is just a smokescreen.

Are you lot all so naiive as to believe the the government does NOT read them at the moment.

Just look at the wording.

All they are doing is to legally allow the UK to hack into everything.

BUT under the current system they get the yanks to do it for them (so its "legal")

At the end of the day its probably just a cost cutting excercise

I believe your correct. This subject was featured on a segment of the O'Reylly Factor last night and I concure with the host and his guest. Two points were made about the law that your government wants to pass. First there will be a certain amount of personnel freedom that will cease to exist if this law passes.

Unlike with our constitution we seemingly have a document to fall back on?

Actually weather it is the NSA or the CIA or the FBi in this country warrants are needed by a judge to monitor the transmission of data and information.

At least that is how the story is told:sneaky2:.

ATM that is all up for debate with leaked security information to mullet rap papers such as the NY Times and such. The Second point was controlling the

Profit incentive for the crooks and terrorist presently using the Internet in your country with no fear or concern of being caught or punished. This part I believe is a good policy since money and power are driving forces for both of these groups. I am certain that the exchange of information between your Mi5

and MI6 will continue but how much western allies and other countries around the world can trust this present regime in the short term is in certain doubt.

November will not come soon enough for this American, God save the Republic.

Hmmm...if a bill is past and the gov can spy on us and all our media anybody wanting to do terrorist / activities then they're just have to meet up in person no phones no emails may slow it down but wont stop anything

Nah they will just look in the wrong places as usual, they won't want to spy on the real terrorists as it would be against there human rights. :laugh1:

Since I have been old enough to vote and witness the changes to my Rebublic, yes the last administration was better than the current want a be "I can do anything I want to in office and the constitution means nothing " renter of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. His lease is nearly over, I believe the American voting public will not be renewing it.

Hi,

Is this why a 14 year old was rumbled for running a mank blog about school dinners?

This takes the somewhat draconian state of affairs regarding interception & RIPA to a new level (IMO). George Orwells book was a warning not a manual, the Internet empowers the average person & Governments dont like that - they lost control if they ever had it and now its catch up time.

But please dont give me that 'I have nothing to hide & thus nothing to fear' myth.

However, there will always be someone somewhere that will bypass it.

I believe the pulling of the blog poster was a knee jerk reaction that the powers to be made as a form of damage control, not really sure about the charity formed by a group? Nothing wrong with that of course, really convent

If one thinks about it.

I strongly object to you trying to hijack my post by claiming it supports your neocon stace. The American right wing is always saying that it "wants the government off their backs".

Well the fact is that we in the UK & the whole world want America off their back.

O pardon me. Your objection is noted, next time the Americans invent something better than the Internet, I will suggest we keep it to our selfs.

At least that will be one less thing on the back of the UK and the rest of the world:sneaky2:. FYI, I believe the majority of this country wants the government off of our back as citizens as well, the balance that wants to continue to suck off the public teet can pound salt as far as I am concerned.
