Don't forget with a permissive path to close it once or twice a year!! Even if a path is logged with the LA the oddity's of PROW law are very odd. By closing the path once or twice a year and RECORDING the closure will mean that no one can claim on it. Its complicated stuff.

Yes and no.

Simply putting up a sign stating that the path exists by permission of the landowner defeats any 'as of right' claim. However, for belt and braces the sign can also state that the path is closed every Christmas (for example).

Of course another option is to approach the LA and suggest that you might like to dedicate a new right of way along your chosen route. That way they get to maintain it

If you do move it, take the opportunity to install a rambler trap. This is a simple device consisting of a conveyor and some rotating blades. They are designed in such a way that they only catch groups of idiots walking through the countryside in bright clothing talking rubbish as loudly as possible.

Our local ramblers association love to wear high viz vests when walking around the countryside, and they wonder why my 250 dairy cows think 20 or 30 people in high viz is an exciting thing to explore and lick?

Mike/Stereo, I smell a business partnership for you two - Ramblers attract the cows, so just attach Stereo's blades to the cows in some way!!

I'll take the first two off the production line please

PS Im sure my neighbors will be after one too - what commission are you offering?:thumbup1:
