Airspade

Strange day today i have been tryingout a airspade i have got to use it tomorrow to root prune in a trench for foundations for a small building in the clients garden .I had a little go on a old prunus in my bosses garden and after mixed the soil with some compost to backfill .I would be greatfull for any further advice on useing the machine and any links /pics.cheers in advance:thumbup:

a building experience is what I possess, not any presumed technical excellence

 

From my observations there are two main considerations to assess in terms of practical application during airspading.

 

Firstly - is the target area secure against property damage & injury to passers by ?

 

Secondly - is the operator sufficiently protected against eye injury, but more importantly 'silicosis' ?

My plan is to use ply boards next to the trench and a screen of tarps outside the area to catch stones.Im going to wear my stein hardhat withface mask and goggles.
