or put where folk may steal it

Aesculus Hippocastaenum or Castanea Sativa?

The first needs lots of drying, the second needs as much drying as oak, and stinks on an open fire.

i wont sell sweet chestnut at all if i can help it...spits like mad

on the plus side though im told it leaves very little ash

i think horse chestnut needs time to season and spits alot but thats what ive read, i havent burnt any myself. theres alot of deseased chestnuts around so alot of people are going to be burning it.

thats what im thinking bill, ive always avoided it in the past but im getting more and more of it now and premium hardwood is getting increasingly hard to come across

Been clearing a development site over the last couple of days, and there was loads of chestnut palings fencing in the brambles, burns like . Couldnt say if it spat sparks everywhere, cos I didnt hang around.
