Harness for chainsaw on a stick!

We've got a new stihl pole saw (can't remember the model but will find out tomorrow) and we got the harness that has a bent bar that goes around your left shoulder for attachment. I've tried all sorts of adjustments and can't seem to get along with it because it seems to put all the weight on my left side. Does anyone use this type of harness? The pole saw seems to be heavier than the HT75 and it has a big plastic handle under the engine.

Ive got a harness with my pole saw and never use it as its awful

ditto, i gave it back and didnt even ask for a refund:sneaky2:

its a nice idea but in reality the amount of manouvering you need to do to work a pole pruner effectively it just doesnt work:thumbdown:

The Stihl harness is truly awful. My workmate swears by it as he reckons it take weight off his arms when using the extending pole saw on max reach, and when using a hedgecutter end. But I hate the thing. It makes manoeuvring around awkward, it knackers my lower back, it feels like it trying to tip my over backwards when I'm up a ladder with it. HATE IT. I much prefer to just use my arms and core muscle. It really ain't that hard. It's easy to find a good balance point too.

It sounds like your situation could do for an ELH. Although I know of several members that own and use my product, there is One complaint, that is they wished they had purchased theirs sooner!. If you have any other questions pm me and I will be happy to answer and help any way I can.

That has to be the best advert for this product!! For those with back shoulder and arm problems (most of us!!) I can see benefits of it. This vid shows off far more graphically the advantages, than some bloke randomly walking about at a show looking a complete lemon waving a pole pruner at some imaginary tree. nice vid jammy :thumbup1:
