There is and will be far too many people chasing too few a jobs at the top. I think when I'm too old to do trees I'll sell buy and sell cars or get a nice cushy job driving one of those living room on wheels artics.

I reckon its got to be; training, tree-officer, foreman on a big firm....or get a 'proper' job (boring!). Weather like this makes me wonder too mate...:scared1:

Large estate manager appeals to me. You will then still be able to fell a few trees alongside the contractors. And you get to decide which pieces of kit the land owners "NEED" to buy next. Which may involve a trip to a generic forestry show , etc. So you can still keep in with the industry but on another more laid back level.

Also you could start a fire wood industry. Or my favourate buy a massive killa stump grinder and just grind a couple of big stumps a week to get by. Not the most thrilling of jobs but when ur that old you'd probably have a heart attack doing anything else.:thrasher:
