How many of you tree companies sell logs?

yes, sellin arb waste as logs,why wouldnt you?

 

Because its very labour intensive and does not pay as well as tree work.

 

Also retail is often a nightmare, Joe public can be a real pain, IME.

 

I wholesale mine to guys for whom fire wood is their main business, they are far better set up and prepared to do firewood to the public, IMO :001_smile:

I exchange my timber for free rent on a farm where I keep my kit so works well for me, I agree with Huck as it is so labour intensive and money is easier made doing tree works

 

Depends how much your rent is and how much timber you produce, I get far more for my timber than I pay rent for my yard.

I have a lad who works 7hrs a day converting my arb waste into roughly 7 cubic bags of £80 a bag logs ,,,sometimes more,,,depending on his hangover,,lol,,,how can that not be viable?,,what else would I do with it? and believe me ,,only the waste wood goes to logs,,,,?

i see your point but for me its good 'rainy day' work,spare hour here or there,cut and split a cube or two. We have two woodburners as primary heating, so have to do it anyway
