Pruning cost ?

Hi all what sort of a price would people charge to prune these two trees? this is my first job so unsure,

I will take away all rubbish i have all my own climbing equipment . thanks

What do you mean by prune? Reduce, thin, lift? No offence but how long have you been doing tree work properly for?

I imagine he means reduce, if so 290quid; done by lunch time easy.

Work out your daily costs, fuel, tools, insurance, waste removal, then add on how much you want for doing the job and bingo that's how much you charge.

Please don't heavily reduce the silver birch at this time of year.

 

How you price your own jobs can only be worked out by you. IE distance to travel, fuel costs, insurances, chipper / trailer hire if neccessary, cost to dump arisings, and cost of a subbie groundy that you will need both practically to carry brash, eye up your work, and to rescue you if you get stuck... and also he is required under work at height regs. He needs to have a minimum CS38 but if you require him to cut stuff on the ground the 30/31 also.

 

1 days work in my book and I would price it at around the £300 mark.

Dont reduce them, if youve not been doing tree work long you probably wont make a great job of them (no offence meant), talk to the customer, ask what outcome they are expecting ie more light in the garden? Talk them into having them crown lifted and thinned but thin them lightly, ,dont go overboad as so many people do.

Make sure you've got extra enough money on the job to replace panes of glass in the greenhouse, just in case.

If you don't know how to price a simple job like that, you shouldn't be getting your own work IMO, sorry if that sounds harsh and I know theres that "got to start somewhere" thing but that's basic run of the mill work.
