You can do fast decents with lockjack just pull the toggle as hard as you can (actually don't haha) I've held up both and the lock jack seems to be made of better quality materials. With the lockjack you can put it on midline which is handy I suppose. Once you get the hang of the lockjack the jerkiness when descending will disappear it's like riding a bike really. When I got mine I used it a few times then it stayed in my bag for about a year I just couldn't get on with it but now it makes life and my back so much better in large trees. I still use a prussik in small trees

I have used mine for over a year now with a 13mm rope and works fine but does get slightly sticky if the rope gets sap on it! I am in the motions of buying a 11mm rope to used with the spider jack as they recon it's even easier to climb with. I have never looked back at buying it , it's so easy to climb with, saves your back and arms tremendously....
