Loving the berry picking bowl. Looks nicely proportioned.

Must get some pics of my own kuksa and post them.

Have you tried kolrosing?

cheers

Brian

i have tried a little bit on a scandinavian style serving bowl that i made for a commission, i like on plain grained wood like birch or alder but not on any burr wood as i think it looks lovely just oiled,

The berry picking bowl just needs a bit of a tidy up and oiling, i'm going to leave the tool marks showing on that 1 but have only just started to experiment with a tooled finish

Thanks for the comments:thumbup:

NellBelly, those are great! -would be good to see some when I come down to Croft

Thanks, i'll drop a couple in my bag for you to have a look at.

Spot on that mate. What you going to make out of the oak bur from Hamnish?

Cheers mate, i think we could get enough of that one in the stream for a couple of cups and bowls, the grain would be like the photo of the cups i think with eyes showing

Thanks all for the kind comments, i've been carving for a couple of years using nothing but hand tools, mostly just axe and knives but never had the confidence to show much of my work only making the odd piece for friends, i've got mass's of spoons cups and bowls that i've made over that time
