Liquidation gits!

Another firm (Multi million pound company)who owes us money has just gone into "voluntary liquidation"

 

Thank god it was only for a couple of hundred quid and not grands!

 

Brilliant the way you can rake cash in for years (construction firm) then when times get tight go subby bashing, throw the towel in and walk away un scathed

 

Happening to anyone else?

had it done to me by 2 companies this year, only just got paid for work i did back early march by another. all housing / construction related.

I'd only ever lost £400 in 9 years trading until this year when a large Landscape Design firm went under taking us for £4.5 grand, that was hard to take.

I've just signed up to a debt collection firm, for £350.00/year they assure me they will get payment on 2 firms that went into liquidation on me in 2006+2007 total of around £4.5K, this also includes 10 credit checks on new customers, debt collection on all invoices over the agreed term and CCJ's and collection on existing bad payers.....not sure how it will work out but if they get my money back they have paid for themselves for this year.

In our terms and conditions it states that the ownership of the tree remains with the customer, until payment is recieved in full. If they fail to pay they are reminded of this in a polite letter, suggesting that it will be returned to them in chip form. Normally the cheque arrives soon after.

Otherwise we just pay em a visit.

They have gone into liquidation there isnt much of a company left to get a cheque from.

 

And besides I wouldnt really want to dump a load of chip at an old peoples home

We now use Riskdisc which is a kind of credit check company, you can view a company's performance and history etc on thier website before you begin doing work for them or you have done the work and they will not pay for some reason.

There are a few comany's doing this now, it will give you an insight into the comany, they will also do any legal chasing on your behalf for an additional fee, its seems to be working so far.
