I completely agree with you about the gear doesn't make the climber. But its like im stuck in a rut with the VT and love trying new things. If its gone make it easier by 5% then that's a step up in my eyes. Are job is hard enough at times as it is so anything that's gonna make it slightly easier which reading all the comments about the SJ will then I'm all for it.

I know what you mean, and I think you hit the nail on the head moving to a new device can renew you enthusiasm and force you to make changes which will improve your technique which is no bad thing.

For balance though I,ll always champion the hitch.
