I got all the shiney new bits for my SJ yesterday :thumbup1: but i had an issua of the new holder thingy for the dyneema coming loose i tightend it when it was waited to ensure the spiderjack would engage properly then when i descened the spider jack would not load properlly and i would slip down my line ever so slowly :thumbdown: not good, so just wondering if there is any trick to settting it up or if im just being stupid thanks guys Ewan :thumbup1:

Hi Ewan, by "coming loose" are you referring to the screw that holds it or the red metal thimble itself?

Mine uses a stepped screw that allows the thimble to rotate even when torqued and as you said allows for even loading.

 

Doesn't sound good that it's creeping.

I got the dyneema kit yesterday, have yet too try it out, but certainly looks to be an improvement. Couldn't see any strength rating or ce numbers on the sling or metal ring though, unless I missed it.

I had similar problem then realsied i used tapered screw instead of stepped (whoops) im gonna use some locktite to be sure. How long do the cams last mine is not even a year old and starting to slip?

Hi Ewan if you did use the right screws it sounds like a bit of loctite would do the trick, I saw your post on another thread and it looks like you're not alone, I'm thinking I might take it apart and use some just to be sure.
