The next step ?

Hi all,

Well where shall I start? I Am 30 years old and have been in the industry for nearly 12 years and have worked for several different company's in this time, private, domestic and utility. I am a very competent climber and am currently working as a lead climber/charge hand for a very reputable arb approved company. I am trying to plan for the future and am at a loss. I can't decide if I should take the next step and start my own company or Apply for an assistant tree officers job which would ultimately lead to a tree officers job in the future. I have all the contacts and a yard in mind and the potential to go and work in Norway for a month which would give me the funds to buy a decent tipper and chipper to get me going.

I started up a logging business last year with a partner which went brilliantly but was badly let down due to his lack of interest from my partner so I am thinking I should go it alone. I am unsure which route to take. Pen pushing tree officer, utility contractor or domestic/commercial arboriculture.

Any help, advice and your experiences greatly received.

HELP.
