Rope pluck worry.

If the bundles are just pulled and not cut you can fiddle them back in by gently pulling the strand over a half metre or so. Use a blunt instrument so as not to damage the fibres.

Once pulled back in rub it vigorously between your palms or palm down on a table to bed it back in.

If both the strands are fully severed then bin it or cut the end off the rope. If just plucked a bit then it should be fine. Ease it back into place. If the same strand is damaged in 2 places then its probably no good, though it looks like they are different strands.

where are you based? from what i can see in the photo it may be one strand damaged and what you can see is the two ends, can i also stress that that is no garantee, let your loler inspector have a look he'll let you know, if ever you'd like an inspection I run loleruk, you can give me a ring on 0783502923 if you like.

I would tend to agree with Andy, work the strand away from the area where the rope has "plucked", you should find by pulling the strand back (with something blunt like a pen) over about a meter you will hardly notice the problem. When the rope got caught all it did will pull one strand tight, by reversing this you will just put it back to a balance, if you get any fluffy bits sticking out use a light and singe these off, be carful not to melt the rope though
