Dunno if the FC still grants scavenger licenses-If they do you might get a few truck loads pulled together, Get intouch with the Comision guy in yr area.

I think that the FC have stopped issuing these permits due to Health and Safety (someone actually grafting and doing something usefull-in their woods!heaven forbid!).

Over here in Wales the FC stopped issuing licences and then, after stirring up a hornets nest of public outrage , have started issuing them again!

 

Incidently, they reckon it's only a tempory measure. Here's a quote from their statement -

 

"we want to ensure that everybody, including the elderly and infirm who may not be able to get to their nearest woodland, is able to have access to this wonderful fuel source. This will be one of the benefits of moving to a network of local merchants who can supply anybody.”

 

Has anyone on the forum been contacted about this by the FC?

Anyone got any clues to who to contact regarding sourcing firewood in Gloucestershire and the surrounding areas? I am unaware of any merchants as such but am searching all the time!!!!
