Introducing the new 550 XP chainsaw

Next generation limbing from Husqvarna

Husqvarna continues to deliver innovation in its pro-range of chainsaws with the launch of the new 550 XP. Optimised for precision cutting, the 550 XP makes limbing and felling tasks smoother than ever.

Setting itself apart from its competitors, the 550 XP is 0.2 kg lighter than any other chainsaw of its kind. Effective anti-vibration dampeners absorb vibration, reduce the impact on the user’s arms and hands and lead to more comfortable use.

Repositioned handles also improve the 550 XP’s ergonomics and enhance the user’s overall control.

Husqvarna has integrated RevBoost™ technology into the new 550 XP chainsaw in order to create rapid acceleration and high chain speed – ideal for efficient and effective de-limbing.

The 550 XP X-Torq® engine delivers improved torque and fuel efficiency whilst reducing exhaust emissions and AutoTune™ provides optimal engine performance via an automatic engine setting function. This means that no time needs to be spent on carburettor adjustments, as the saw automatically adjusts for differences in fuel, altitude, humidity, temperature and air filter performance.

The Husqvarna 550 XP features:

  • Outstanding power-to-weight ratio
  • RevBoost™: Rapid acceleration and higher chain speed
  • X-Torq™: Up to 20% less fuel consumption, and up to 75% less emission compared to traditional two-stroke engines
  • Optimised ergonomics: Light-weight body, minimised gyro force impact and upgraded handle design.
  • AutoTune™: Instant optimal settings. Compensating for fuel, altitude, humidity, etc. delivering perfect performance at all times
  • Fuel level window: Gives an instant view of the fuel level

Too bad I'm half a world away.

I'm debating getting another 346XP, which of course I would have woods ported right off. I don't think these new saws lend themselves to mods as well as the old ones. And my 346 cuts like a stock 70 cc saw...or close, at least if the wood is moderately sized.
