Anyone bought through ebay motors?

Have bought quite a bit off ebay, 2 Disco's, X type estate amongst others, never heard of this situation.

Avoid like the plague if I was you, tell them cash on collection. Have you seen enough photos of the vehicle to be sure it genuinely exists and they haven't just pinched them from somewhere else? I always ask for photos of specific things to make sure it's the genuine article....

Thanks for all the replies. I spoke to my friend earlier tonight and he was starting to have a few concerns as well, main one being the item was listed on ebay and then withdrawn only for the seller to contact my friend and say he could have it for the buy it now price which now I think of it, there was no buy it now price where you would normally see it, it was just mentioned in the text of the description. In my view, this is therefore a transaction outside of ebay which is the classic VPP scam if you google it.

We are going to contact him tomorrow and either arrange to see it (although we are in Newcastle and he is in Aberdeen!) or have it shipped down here and we will pay cash on delivery.

I must say I was extremely disappointed with the "quality" of service I received from the ebay help desk and once again have benefitted from the power of Arbtalk! Cheers, guys.
