There is a large hornbeam close to me. It looks like it has been pollarded before. Can anyone give me some idea how to date it?

The tallest Hornbeam (in England) is somewhere in the region of 31 meters in Surrey.

Guestimating a date for a Hornbeam pollard is not an easy task.

Any phots of it ?

Getting dark here so no chance of a good photo. Tapemeasure around the trunk is about 6.5 meters.

This is it in daylight. For a sense of scale that is my MS660 with 36" bar at the base. Any more suggestions on age/ importance appreciated....
