What saw on a lewis winch?

make sure you get a saw with the clutch system like a 372xp. Think this is called an inboard clutch. An outboard clutch like 364xp will fit the lewis, but it needs to be attached by a small chain (comes with the winch). The 372xp type clutch is a lot simpler to fit than the 346xp type clutch.

70cc works well

Recently found that with inboard clutches with the direct mount it was a pain to fit, it was fitted slightly off destrowing the needlenose bearing, with out board clutched saws its as simple as changing a bar, much better imo if you want to take the saw off and on

That's actually a good point. The inboard clutch is a pain to fit, quite fiddly if I remember. But Iv'e never taken mine off the saw since I bought the winch about two years ago. Have had no problems using it on this system with an old 372xp. If you were constantly changing from saw to winch and back than an outboard clutch may be easier.
