I had some old SIPS (think the progress has super seeded them now) and they lasted a good two years wearing them every day as a nature conservation contractor (Little holes from sparks from fires etc).

hey guys,

apologies if this has been covered, i did search but couldnt find alot.

so here it is, which chainsaw trousers would people recommend for work in brambles? the estate i work on is overrun with them, they are the bane of my life. my stihl advance type A's have been totally ripped apart. so does anyone have any experience here they would like to share with me?:biggrin:

SHORTS :lol: every now and then i pop down to ctc just to get a bit of woodbury rash, i love getting in to it in me shorts and sandys:thumbup: you must be getting soft.

:lol: yeah your right i must be going soft, ill book a trip in to woodbury and roll around in the gorse for a few days, that should sort me right out! i will also crack some sentry and do some wet and dry just to keep me on my toes!:lol:

Another vote for Stretch Airs here.

 

Other options might be some legggings/chaps - you can get leather ones but imagine they are very heavy and unwieldy.

As far as type A's are concerned stretch air kevlar extremes are the best. No ifs, no buts. Super comfy, you get plenty of stretch, and with the front of the legs being covered in some wild kevlar stuff, with even more on the knees they don't come tougher.
