Ganoderma vs Eucalyptus ??

does anyone know if Eucalyptus can / does host Ganoderma?

found small young fruiting bodies which to my eye resemble Ganoderma but never seen on Euc before.

 

Any onther sugestions on what it may be if not? and no, no photos, sorry.

 

Found on the butt at the soil level. also on one of the buttress roots.

I've been involved in managing this Euculyptus with Ganoderma for about 15 years.

 

Reduced every 5/6 years, to manage the sail.

 

It doesn't appear to be particularly aggresive in this situation.

Thanks David, it seems to be just starting to form, and i never noticed it 2 years ago, the tree is also not too old, the target rating is moderate,

 

I have advised the client on active management not removal but have priced both so we will see

Would it be possible to have your Gano's microscopically identified, because this far I've only found G. australe on Eucalyptus, which by the way is not that exceptional in The Netherlands.

if you get a sample I can probably find a local group near you that would identify it for free through the BMS, unless you already know a local group?
