The rate we are going, Im gonna have to buy you a large beer!

Not real sure how to find out any detail on the sensor, it seems to have no markings on it, and the end is a tad smashed(if there was anything on there, its gone):001_huh:

Seems something has picked up on the flywheel and hit the end! Next job is to dig out what ever is floating around the bell housing:001_rolleyes:

Most of the older vermeers have a speed controller made by "speed switch", if you get the make and model of the controller the manufacturer will be able to tell you what the input voltage range is. I am sure there is a vermeer speed control box in the workshop, I will take a look and see what I can find out.

Cheers bud, mine is one of the later ones, its a 2003/4 machine. Not sure on make of jiggery box, but its a sealed one fixed on the inside of the lower bonnet, with two seperate looms coming out of it:thumbup:

Thing to do then is have a shufty at the magic box and see if there is a name and number on it, contact the manufacturer and ask what input voltage in needs. Armed with that you can go to RS or similar, I have a look and magnetic sensors are in the 50 quid price range.
