Man who has difficulty starting chainsaw with sissy plug will have no chance starting chainsaw without sissy plug.

My mate couldn't start his 066 the other day so I lent him my 660, it wasn't until he started to question my parentage that I remembered I'd forgotten to tell him about the lack of sissy plug.

I had to start it for him in the end.

Does anyone else remove the decompression plugs?

I bought a new 880 last year and plan to remove the decomp plug as soon as it's out of warrenty, I've seen to many times what happens when the thing breaks.

I have seen one that had a bit of crud jamming it open but never broke one, how many have you broken?

Think he's going on about internal failure where the end drops off into the cylinder :(

I always use the de comp on the 088 otherwise i wouldn't try to start it lol, not broke it yet :D

Correct, I didn't break them they broke themselves and the damage caused is not good.

1st time, the bottom half inch fell into the cylinder, the outer plug stayed in place when the saw was stopped so when I came to start it again.........it didn't and I needed a new cylinder and piston.

2nd time outer plug dropped out so I knew what the problem was.
