I am looking for a chainsaw winch. I know about Lewis winches but are there any others you would recommend, where to buy them or has anyone got one for sale ?

Don't know about any others. Have used some ancient versions in the past but don't know what make they were. I think this company is the dealer for the Lewis winch

I noticed today that Riko sell chainsaw winches so might be worth having a look. They do a self-powered version too.

hi bob i have a chainsaw winch i could sell . i have 2 winches so ones been in the house for years ,stay close by as well

i priced up a lewis winch the other day £715 for the winch, another 90 odd for the long cable. And you will be needing that spare 60cc saw (at least) at the back or the shed, but not a stihl as it looks pants, it needs an attachment thing to make it work with the clutch i think. all plus vat

 

i opted for a capstan winch from cyclone but thats not perfect either
