hi ben.

we have a couple of mogs at work.

heres a few points ,

what sort of distances are between your jobs? as semms they only go about 40mph.

the maintence does semm very high on them. because of the price second hand you sometimes end up with a 20yr old vehicle great as they are at that age bits will start to fail.

.......................

Just to follow on from this, in my experience:

Do not buy cheap unless you are looking for a project

if your funds allow buy from a reputable dealer, remember a quick paint job can take your eye away from alot of mechanical issues.

As with cars, watch for the smarmy salesman.

when / if you do buy watch the risk of overloading the axles with 3 point link chipper and chip box as this will lead to expensive axle repairs. Up-rated springs do not help, no matter what you are told!!!!!!!

Happy hunting

I would say depending on the volume of work, the U900 or larger unit could be highly justified. I now have a U900 to begin using this spring for an arboretum that will present every possible dilemma over its 400+ acres, so in this case, it was the logical choice.

We will run

6" Valby chipper out front

8000 lb. hyd winch on rear

40' versalift bucket on platform

..And move snow in the winter.
