Ive had 3 260 HF Farmi's, in my opinion there is no better PTO chipper out there (for the price).

The twin disk system with screens and sliver breakers works exceptionaly well, easily producing high grade fuel chip.

If you want the best price and service, speak to Gareth at Corwen Forestry, as they are the longest running Farmi dealers in the country.

cheers guys, my local forestry dealership sells tp chippers and they all look very impressive but i dont think i can justify the price tag. a little further away is the farmi dealer who let me have a good look round them and have a demo feeding slab wood and like you say a good consistant grade chip was produced.

is there anything to look out for when looking at second hand one?

Same as any 2nd hand kit mate, check for abuse, open her up and have a good look around. Look for dents in the feed hooper as you'd be amazed how many people crane feed PTO chippers. :blushing:

The most expensive bits to deal with are the hydrulic motors which can be damaged through abuse. TBH though if it looks clean and tidy on the outside it's probably replicated on the inside....

Have run farmi for the last 15 yrs on U900's and U1000's, easy to maintain and very good chip.Biggap between the rollers and the blades so can be a bit of a pain with conifers wrapping round rollers. Watch for the last bit of wood getting stuck in the gap, sometimes have to turn pto shaft back by hand as it will stall mog.

Price wise I paid just under £5,000 brand spanker from the factory but had to make my own control bar set up.
